City Hall Launch, November 2009

ISSET launched the Northern Lights Art and Photography Contest at Edmonton City Hall in November 2009.

Grade six students from Minchau Elementary School entered their artwork for the opportunity to have Canadian Astronaut Julie Payette video-conference with their school.

Awards Ceremony at the Art Gallery of Alberta, April 2010

CBC's Bob McDonaldOur top twenty finalists and their guests were invited to the AGA for the Awards Ceremony and pizza party.  CBC's Bob McDonald emceed the event and City of Edmonton Mayor Mandel announced the winner, Nicolette, a grade 5 student from Bisset School.  Thanks to Nicolette, all 320 students at Bisset School get the opportunity to learn about space from one of the few Canadians who has actually been there - astronaut Julie Payette.

Astronaut Video-Conference, May 2010

Julie Payette video-conferenced with Bisset School on May 19 from NASA's Johnston Space Center in Houston, Texas.  Students, parents and teachers listened as Ms Payette answered twenty questions from the students.
